Ignorance of the Law Excuses No One
According to Herbert Spencer, “the recognition of the law being the recognition of uniformity of relations among phenomena, it follows that the order in which different groups of phenomena are reduced to law, must depend on the frequency with which the uniform relations they severally display are distinctly experienced”. According to Socrates, man is a political animal. In simpler terms, the law is an unseen force that drives us to do what is right and helps us maintain peace and order in our community. Without this unseen force, everything will be reduced to chaos.
The law is a complex topic, which is boring for the vast majority whose careers do not dwell within the realms of laws. It is a boring issue to discuss because it is filled with words and phrases that look like they were written from the medieval ages. In reality, this ignorance cannot go on because without proper information about the current laws, we will fall prey to those who want to do us harm. The law is something that we need in our lives in order for us to leave harmoniously with one another. If we are ignorant about what’s going on with the laws of our country, how can we expect to survive?
